Radio was a popular way to share news, music, and other entertainment. This helped spread Jazz music throughout the country, and get artists like Louis Armstrong into the living rooms of all Americans. He hosted a national radio show which was significant for the time because rasicsm was prevelant, and he paved the way for civil rights movements for people like Martin Luther King Jr.
